Cold Easter

Outside freezing. But inside, champagne in front of candlelights and fire. And.... Eggs!

We dyed our eggs naturally, with plants and onion peels. Don't you just love the 'au naturel'?

The patterns come out  very different, depending on what little plants you've used.

Mayonnaise and dill - and voila! Tasty Easter breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Even Sushi played with eggs. See how she is staring at you? - 'You better leave this one to me'. Feisty little thing.

Two green-eyed cats.

Being a wild child, I had to go out into fields in the middle of nowhere and pick some bents and bring them home.

Beautifully mossy bench lonely in the Oak Park.

Walks in the park, watching the beauty of nature.

All in all, the week end was spent eating (eggs), sleeping excessively, walking and watching movies. Utter bliss.

  3. Very awesome...I love how you died your eggs with onion peels and stuff...did you just boil the onion peels and place the eggs inside? Or was it a little more complicated?

    1. Hi Laura, thanks!! Not too complicated at all - I wrapped leaves of various plants round the egg, then wrapped all that in onion peel and made sure it stuck well by placing it in a net or sock (yeah!) and tied it up. I also chucked some onion peel into the water for some extra brown-ness. Then boiled it for 5-10 minutes and left it to cool till the next morning and unwrapped it then. x

  4. WOW! What an amazing way to create beautiful easter eggs! They look so classic. Where did you learn how to do that?? Such a great idea, I'll have to give it a try next year!
